When we first came across the Chelsea 2011 away soccer jersey made by adidas, the first thing we thought was that it had to be a Hull City jersey with it’s black and orange colors. Then our next thought was it had to be the Chelsea goalkeeper jersey, but we were wrong again and it’s indeed their away jersey that they will wear for the 2010-11 upcoming season. While we really don’t like the choice of colors Chelsea FC will be wearing this coming season, we do like the modern day pinstripe look within the jersey as it begins thin then flares out to give it a very unique look.

We aren’t quite sure why these colors were chosen for this year’s design as we can’ remember the team ever wearing this color combination to our knowledge and hopefully it’s the last time they do. This short sleeved jersey is mostly black with accents of orange within the collar, the capped sleeves and more hints within the pinstripes in the body of the jersey. The orange really stands out as it’s used in the team sponsor full front logo, the adidas logo and within the Chelsea Football Club embroidered patch on the front of the jersey. The two tone black and orange logo is the first time in our recollection that the blue, white and red wasn’t used as the colors within the patch for their jerseys in recent years.

The make of this Chelsea adidas is very popular ClimaCool material which is their advanced material engineered to reduce heat and moisture build-up. We aren’t quite sure how their fans will take to this new color combination, but their fans did come out in drives to purchase their navy and lime colored jersey from last season so we think this jersey will do just as well although we aren’t giving it a must buy rating.
