LA Galaxy Jerseys Throughout the Years

Mar 22nd, 2009 | By admin | Category: Major League Soccer Jerseys, Soccer Fans Wearing Jerseys

When we were doing articles about Major League Soccer jerseys about who had the best soccer jersey and who had the coolest jersey, we wanted to do some articles about how the MLS soccer jerseys have changed throughout the years and it’s been for the better for most teams. This particular article will discuss how the LA Galaxy has changed their jerseys from a multi colored mismosh green, orange and burnt red colors to a classic looking blue, gold and white jersey color. Their first jersey was made by Nike and they actually had two color greens on the body of the jersey and if you looked at the jersey the greens weren’t even that far off in shades so it was hard to really figure out what the colors were from a distance. Now there isn’t anything wrong with having two colors separated in the body of the jersey color as we’ve written we like the royal and white Blackburn combination and that’ because the two colors really stand out, but this 1996 LA Galaxy jersey is far from that quality.

There other jerseys from the years 2004 – 2006 were nice looking professional soccer jerseys as they were mainly gold in the body and had a stripe going from the left shoulder to the bottom of the right body of the jersey, nothing special, but it wasn’t ugly either. Now fast forward to the current 2009 season and you have a great looking jersey that is made by adidas and it’s a clean looking jersey that anyone would be proud to wear. The body of the 2009 LA Galaxy jersey is plain, they took away the swirly line in the body of the jersey from last year’s design and made the piping a lot thinner so that the jersey seemed a lot less busy which is nicely done.

The funny thing about these two soccer jersey designs is that you wouldn’t even think this was the same soccer franchise that wore these jerseys as the colors are so dramatically different, nevermind the color selection. Well we are thrilled that the LA Galaxy decided to tone down their jersey design and we feel they are probably selling more jerseys to soccer fans across the country as well with this new design with or without David Beckham on the team.

Let us know what you think, about these two LA Galaxy jersey designs. Were you a fan of the 1996 LA Galaxy jersey? Do you like their new jersey?
