With the failed attempt to land Kaka this January, the word around the soccer world is that Lionel Messi could possibly wear a Manchester City jersey next season. The report is that the money rich club, Manchester City is prepared to offer Messi €112 million (£100m) to Messi. Now we have to factor in, does Messi take the huge amount of money offered to play for a team that won’t be as competitive as Barcelona or does he stay with the FC Barcelona and play in top level competition and contend for team trophies each year? The only way we see Messi leaving Barcelona is if the team gets rid of their core players this off season and prove to be less competitive then they are this season, but a lot would have to happen for that to be true. We can’t say for certain on whether Messi will leave Barcelona for Spain, but having him in the top league in the world, would be a lot of fun to watch each week.
