English Premier League fans are very familiar with the Newcastle home jersey which is always a black and white striped jerseys, but it’s the Newcastle away jersey made by adidas that seems to change all too often. Newcastle is one of the Premier League teams that doesn’t have a set in stone away set of colors for their soccer jerseys, one might think that they would do an all white or all black jersey, but that’s never been the case. It appeared that during the 1990’s they were going to keep yellow jerseys which was very common in the 1970’s 80’s and even into the 90’s but they did a major overhaul in colors once again during the 1995-96 and 2006-07 season where they went to a maroon and navy blue kit for their away jerseys. Well they have done it once again for this season as they choose an all purple jersey to represent their away jerseys and we think this is one jersey color that doesn’t really represent or give an identity to Newcastle at all. If they do in fact change their away colors again next year and we believe they will, they should look more closely at their team badge and choose one of those alternate colors like gold, blue red, or silver which they did in fact use as their third jersey for this season.

When you see a Newcastle fan walking the streets while wearing their purple away jersey the team Newcastle doesn’t come to mind, it just doesn’t have the same identity like a Manchester United black away jersey because when you think of Manchester United you immediately think of Red, black and white. Well we do think Newcastle grasped this idea by doing a third jersey this season and made it an all silver color, a color that’s in the team badge on their jerseys. Now we know it’s not an all black or all white jersey, but at least this jersey color better reflects their team’s home color scheme, just take a look at their logo and you’ll see the silver color there so we can accept this third jersey as being a good choice for their away jersey if they decide to drop the all purple jersey.
