Well the American forward Landon Donovan will get his wish granted to play for the German giants, Bayern Munich according to a report on Goal.com. A deal was struck and Donovan will be wearing a Bayern Munich jersey and he will be able to get onto the pitch for Bayern as early as January 1st during the January transfer window. The deal was made official by Bayern Munich Chief Executive Karl-Heinz Rummenigge and he stated the deal will end before the 2009 MLS season begins. This is great news for Donovan who’s been really hoping to head back over to Germany a second time, this time a more mature player in hopes to get better playing time and improve on as player overall.

There has been talk that Bayern Munich would be letting current forward Lukas Podolski go to Koln or Manchester City as the striker has gone publicly how unhappy he is at Munich. This can’t and won’t happen Rummenigge states on Goal.com, “no deal can happen until the summer when Bayern will have time to find a replacement.” So this may all lead to Podolski sitting on the bench to give way for more minutes to Donovan so that he can show his coach’s and management that he was worth the transfer to Germany. This will certainly make for a good talk during the transfer season along with their march towards winning the Bundesliga as well as staying alive in the Champions League.
