Manchester United has quite a few changes this season to their new home soccer jersey but one thing we don’t like is the jersey is fairly boring. The 2010-11 Manchester United home jersey is an all red jersey and the one major change you’ll notice right away is the team has their new sponsor AON featured on the front of the jersey, gone are the days of AIG. You’ll also notice the Red Devils jersey has returned to a traditional collard look, something their fans will remember from the Eric Cantona days when he wore the jersey with the collar up. Another new feature to the jersey to add just a little style to it while breaking up all the red are screened on white strips starting from the shoulder of each side and continuing down to each sleeve.

If you miss the chevron design from last year’s jersey, its still there you just have to look close to find it. The chevron design that featured last season is evident in the engineered mesh pattern on the back of the shirt, and there is a unique looking V-shape that is withing the shoulder print detail.

Nike made a huge improvement to this year’s Manchester United kit in that it’s 13% lighter and 17% more stretchable, the one complaint we heard all of last year was that the jersey was too tight and customers were returning the jersey to get the next size up. Along with the team sponsor on the front you’ll see the embroidered red Manchester United team badge and Nike swoosh which has been pretty customary for their jerseys.

Fans will love that their official Man United jersey that they purchase has an “AUTHENTIC” tag with unique serial number proves that this jersey is designed to the exact specifications of the Red Devils. The millions of fans may never get to step on the pitch at Old Trafford, but wearing this jersey will at least give them a feeling that they are at least apart of the team since it will look and feel just like the jersey Giggs and Rooney will wear during the season.

Overall, this year’s jersey is a like it don’t love it. It’s just a simple soccer kit design and it doesn’t offer enough for us to rush out and get it over some of the other jerseys we’ve reviewed this year.
