DC United Jerseys Are Consistently Good

Take a moment and think about the Major League Soccer jerseys from the start of the league in 1996 through today and the one MLS jersey that looked good each season was the DC United jersey. While some teams were busy with using flashy colors to attract new soccer viewers and a younger hip audience, DC United has always had a look of a professional soccer club, the same look you would find in the English Premier League.
The DC United home jersey has always been consistently black with the adidas three stripes going vertically across the center of the jersey, except during the 1999 season where the jersey was unlike any jersey they had in the team history. That season the jersey body was black with a white panel on each side and red stripes. Even their road white jerseys have had the adidas three stripes on the jersey in a dominant fashion be it vertically or horizontally, thus giving the team a look that is always recognizable at home or during away games.
The new jersey DC United wears for their home and away games are almost identical with the body of the jersey being mainly black for the home jersey or white for the away jersey and in the center of the jersey is the VW sponsor logo and it’s capped off with the adidas three stripes going down each sleeve. Now you might say this is one of their most boring jersey designs, but we think this soccer jersey is once again classy and one of the better looking jerseys in the league once again. The only thing we wish DC United would do is throw in a third jersey and make it mostly red with some black and white. Even if they wore this on Saturday only games, we feel this jersey would be a huge seller for the team and it would gain popularity among all soccer jersey wearers which should only bring more popularity to the game itself.

Let us know your thoughts; do you think the DC united jersey has been one of the best looking soccer jerseys in the MLS since the league started?
