Benfica Soccer Jersey Review
Dec 31st, 2008 | By admin | Category: European Club Soccer JerseysLooking over Portugal’s most popular club team’s soccer jersey, Benfica, we noticed that the makers of the jersey adidas used a design very similar to Nike’s jerseys for the Belgium national team. Now the looks aren’t identical but the styles are fairly similar and we question why two of the largest soccer jersey suppliers would make soccer jerseys that close to one another? If you look at both jerseys they have the red body jersey and the two flares going from the bottom up to the sides of the jersey look all too familiar with the main difference is that the 2008 Benfica soccer jersey goes up a little higher. Now adidas did us all a favor by keeping their trademark three stripes going down the sides of the arms and they added a little black in the arm pit area, but why would they take a similar look in the body of the jersey? (See below).
We do like how Benfica used the color blue for their sponsor logo in the full front of the jersey to change the jersey up a little bit from all that red. They took the blue from their team badge and added it as the main background color for their sponsor tmn which isn’t the first color we would have used, but it’s a bold statement to get another color added to the jersey and change it up a bit. One other feature on the jersey is that they added another sponsor on the back above the number where player’s names would typically go, so if you are watching a Benfica game please note there isn’t a player named BES on the team. As with the other adidas soccer jerseys we’ve had in the past, this jersey is made of the ClimaCool technology so you can be assued that it’s lightweight and very comfortable with the moisture control and mesh ventilation all at the same time.
