One thing you’ll notice about the 2009 Aston Villa home soccer jersey is that it looks very similar to the 2008 version. Now we aren’t a big fan of professional club jerseys coming out each year with slight modifications to the previous year’s design. We would rather have the club keep the same jersey from last year instead of making slight design changes to the arm shoulders and the neckline as Aston Villa did with this year’s design.

The Aston Villa 2009 home jersey has a thing light blue lining on the shoulder sleeve this year instead of an all blue shoulder that they wore last year. This year’s version also has the claret color capping each sleeve to complete the look. The other slight change is this year’s design has a rounded neckline, a feature we really like on all jerseys as it gives it a more comfortable feel when wearing the jersey. We wish there was more to tell you about the new Aston Villa home jersey, but everything else seems to be the same including the jersey body color and the sponsor and team badge on the front of the jersey. If you are a true Aston Villa fan you might want to upgrade your jersey for this season, but if you are the casual soccer jersey fan we think you might be passing on this year’s design.
