Remember how cool the all black Manchester United uniform that was worn in the 2007-08 season? Well we think they need to bring back this look as it was one of their sharpest soccer uniforms to date. Currently they have their home red, away white and a blue third jersey, so hopefully next season they can incorporate the black jersey as their third jersey once again as the blue one is being used in celebration of their 40th anniversary where they beat Portugal’s Benfica to become the first English team to lift the European Cup trophy. So with a new season coming next year, that leaves some opportunity for them to re-introduce their all black look for their third uniform choice which would bring a huge smile to our faces.

The all black look started when Umbro designed the uniform for them, before this they only wore black as a training top. Then when Nike took over as the Manchester United uniform design, they reintroduced the all black look in 2003 which was a very plain soccer jersey look, but a good one at that as it looked very sleek on the soccer pitch each time they took the field. Just how popular was the all black look? It was re-introduced due to a player vote where they named the 1993 black jersey as their favorite uniform of all time.

The black Manchester United jersey we liked the best came in 2007-08 when Nike brought back the black jersey look and gave it a little more character as they added red trim that went from the shoulders to the neck and finally capped at the bottom of the sleeves. Now we are all aware that Manchester United will have new soccer jerseys for the 2009-10 season as they are getting a new sponsor and the red jersey will be their home and white will most likely be their away jersey, so we hope Nike works out a deal where they bring back the black look which should be a top seller for Manchester United fans around the world.
